In this context of financial law, the following is a definition of Delivery: The tender and receipt of the actual commodity, the cash value of the commodity, or of a delivery instrument covering the commodity (e.g., warehouse receipts or shipping certificates), used to settle a futures contract. See Notice of Intent to Deliver, Delivery Notice.
Delivery
Concept of Delivery in the context of derivatives contract, by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA): The physical movement from seller to buyer of the underlying asset on which the derivative (i.e. an instrument that transfers risk from one party to the other) is based.
